Geological/Historical Information

• Man-made stone, gold coloured comprises of smelted Gypsum, Feldspar and Copper filings.
• Blue coloured is made by adding Copper Salts to glass in a furnace and a blue vegetable dye is added - more geological information.
• Green and Purple varieties now available.
• Many manufacturers of tumbles and pendants made from this material do not declare it is man-made or synthetic - some seems to have a genuine lack of knowledge as the material arrives at the factory floor in chunks just like jaspers, obsidians etc. Some mis-leading of the public is deliberate which shows a lack of integrity by the seller.

• Made by adding Copper Salts to glass in a furnace, heat "smelts" the Copper Salts back to Copper which then crystallise in the glass. A blue vegetable dye is added to give the blue colour.
